Description
These three giraffe seem to say "I'll watch your back if you watch mine" as they rest in formation at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas. Original photograph by Jayne Wilson.
A portion of the proceeds from sales of this photograph will be donated to Fossil Rim.
Giraffe are the tallest living land mammals and their coat patterns are unique to each animal, much like that of a human fingerprint.
Their range is north eastern Africa, Somalia and north Kenya, where their conservation status is LC (Least concern) although their population trend is decreasing.
Fossil Rim Wildlife Center are actively managing this species within the American Zoo Association's Species Survival Plans (SSP) program
